fyeahswords: A katana, a sword associated with the Japanese, particularly with samurai. The blades are curved to maximize cutting power. These swords are one of the best swords for cutting, but they also have some thrust potential. Most katanas are one and a half handed, meaning that while they can be wielded with only one hand, two hands is required to use its full potential. Samurais wielded these swords extremely fast and unlike most other swordsmen, they never used shields.
